Making a Difference
How the Initiative is Changing Wyoming
How We Got Started
The Wyoming Breast Cancer Initiative was established in 2016 under the fiscal sponsorship of the Wyoming Community Foundation to provide statewide breast cancer detection funding and survivor services, without eligibility limitations. We received our nonprofit exemption status in 2019. Our minimum granting goal is $75k-$100k annually to Wyoming-only breast health programs that fulfill our mission.
Our Impact
Funds raised in Wyoming, stay in Wyoming. 2024 will be WBCI’s 9th year and the 8th grant cycle. With the approval of the 2024 grants, the WBCI has granted over 1 Million dollars into Wyoming-only programs. The breakdown of the direct effect of these grants is represented in the Annual Report found here.
Our Mission
The WBCI aims to raise awareness and fund breast cancer programs in Wyoming with an emphasis on increasing breast health education, financially assisting breast cancer screenings, facilitating patient navigation, and promoting survivor services through fundraising efforts across the state, proceeds remain in Wyoming to grant into eligible programs.
